Importance of digital encryption for online privacy

This survey is designed to help us learn more about common beliefs and attitudes towards encryption.

When we talk about encryption, we mean the encryption in transit of your data when it's routed through internet cables to reach its destination, so nobody can snoop on or tamper with your online activity. That includes end-to-end encryption and means your messages, the files you share, your emails, your browsing activity etc. are only visible to you and/or the intended recipient.

Completing this survey should not take more than 7-10 mins and your answers will be anonymous.

*We would like to include select, anonymized user stories in our outreach and advocacy efforts to help further the popular understanding of encryption's critical role in safeguarding online privacy. This may involve having the anonymized stories published on our website or social media. We will ask for your consent in the survey and you will have the option to opt-in or opt-out.

There are 12 questions in this survey.
This survey is anonymous.

The record of your survey responses does not contain any identifying information about you, unless a specific survey question explicitly asked for it.

If you used an identifying access code to access this survey, please rest assured that this code will not be stored together with your responses. It is managed in a separate database and will only be updated to indicate whether you did (or did not) complete this survey. There is no way of matching identification access codes with survey responses.
